I use found and original footage from the internet to explore how
technology is used to communicate everything from the profane, to the
banal, to the heartbreaking. Combining video through montage, I create
connections and new meanings with recordings from many different
sources. The raw material is homemade video, and it reveals how people
use technology to fill their needs for self-expression and connection.
With these mash-ups I investigate themes of war, love, grief, and art.
