Months
Digital video, 20min, 2011
Months (2012) is a video document and love letter to the splendor and banality of my everyday world. When I got a camera phone for Christmas in 2010 I began the common practice of making short videos of the people and places around me. I would watch the videos and think of them as markers of time and space finding I recorded more when I was happy, trying to use video to prolong joy. Eventually I started to edit the clips. It seemed untrue to omit anything so I used selections from every clip of video I ever captured on the phone in chronological order, divided by month. The video ends when in December of 2011 the phone was dropped into a puddle of wine and replaced with a newer model.
